Beginners bookbinding with Woodle Books 

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and those who may have dabbled during their university course. 

Learn how to make books with Aimee from Woodle Books. Aimee has been bookbinding since 2012 and has worked for the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle and prestigious London Book Binders. 

During the workshop you will be taught how to fold and manipulate paper and why grain direction is so important and how it’s recognised. You will get to choose the bookbinding cloth you cover your book with and get to choose the endpapers as well. A few trade secrets will be shared, including how to lock your thread onto your needle. All materials and specialist tools will be provided for you. At the end of the workshop you will have an A6, 170GSM, plain paper, single section notebook and the skills to go ahead and make more.
